From Me to You

A day unfolds in a small village and a father and his father enjoy spending time with their young son.

In a busy marketplace of a small town, a father muses how his young son is still small enough to play in a cardboard carton. As the day meanders on, he thinks how big his son’s clothes are on him, but also knows he will soon grow into them and in time outgrow them, too.Though his son fears the dark and angry, growling dogs, the father also observes that as he grows, life will teach his son to be brave. Throughout the story, the boy’s grandfather is a silent partner next to his father encouraging him as the father encourages his son.

Bertini’s poignant and lyrical tale connects generations and extols the quiet wonders of being an involved father.

Bentley’s evocative pencil and watercolor illustrations breathe life into this quiet story.

Highly recommended for any home, school or public library.
