Upside-Down Sid by Dylan Shearsby

Upside-Down Sid

By Dylan Shearsby

In a place where everything is always upside right lives a fellow called Upside-Down Sid. He lives alone in a strange little house and all of his life Sid understood that he was different from almost everyone else. He got by, but because it was very hard to fit in or make friends like other people, Sid spent most of his time alone. Occasionally, Sid wished things were different, but he managed to fix anything broken and spent many happy hours reading.

However, one day a basketball smashed through his window by some neighbors who apologized and fixed the window. It wasn’t long before the neighbors began to include Sid in many other activities. One day, after Sid left home, they worked together to make Sid’s house more Sid-friendly.

This is storyboard artist and illustrator Shearsby’s first picture book. It combines humor with a quiet lesson of the importance of accepting each other’s quirks and differences. Highly recommended for any home, school, or public library.
