This non-fiction picture book explores the variety of homes around the world.

Our world contains an enormous variety of houses for people around the globe to live in. Readers are asked to think about their own homes: how many rooms does it have? Is your home a boat or a tent? Or do you live with many other families in a high-rise apartment building? What kind of street is your home on? Do you live on a short street with houses placed in neat rows or on a zigzag street with many curves? Some homes are not on any street: they are on water and other homes have roofs with attic windows shaped like eyes! Others have flat roofs where people can sit and visit. Houses have also changed throughout history as well.

Butterfield’s text combines facts about the world’s diverse types of homes to introduce young readers to the amazing diversity among people and their abodes.

Rossiter’s captivating and detailed illustrations will not only delight young readers but also expose them to many different ways of life.

Highly recommended for inclusion in any home, school or public library’s collections.
